Luxembourg language classes in London

This is a unique opportunity to learn Lëtzebuergesch, taught by Eddie Bohnert, a native Luxembourger. The course is primarily aimed at beginners, but is also suitable for those who wish to learn more about the structure, vocabulary and (new) spelling rules of the language. It is ideal for the children of Luxembourg émigés, for people whose marriage partner hails from the Grand Duchy, for business people thinking of relocating there, for individuals who want to apply for citizenship, and for Londoners who simply would like to learn more about the Grand Duchy, and perhaps prepare for a holiday there. It consists of 30 two-hour lessons, spead over three terms. The lessons take place in Fleet Street, Central London, on Saturday mornings.

A free taster lesson, open to all, is planned for 10th October 2009. The Winter Term 2009 is scheduled to start on 17th October, and to finish on 19th December. The Spring Term 2010 runs from 9th January till 27th March, and the Summer Term 2010 from 10th April to 26th June.

The cost is £120.00 per term, with concessions for some people. Please consult the fees page to see if you qualify. The standard aimed for at completion is that required of applicants for Luxembourg nationality, namely to be able to hold a conversation with an examiner for ten minutes on a topic dealing with everyday life (minor mistakes are allowed), and to understand short audio recordings of news reports and conversations.
